Presents for Theresa

Hey my midterms are done (at least, round 1 of them are) so I'm kind of free now! Well, not really.

I wish.

Regulars of my blog will remember my panic of buying my Mother's birthday present. And at the end I mentioned that I had to start hunting for a present for my girlfriend Theresa. Well her birthday is next week so let's see how well I'm doing.

Note before we start, I have a thing for the number 4, thus my goal is to always give my girlfriend 4 gifts. (Somehow Bersercules remembers my obsession with the number 4, I'm not sure why....)

Gift #1:

For those of you unaware of Squishables they make great gifts. Basically they're giant plush animals.

I think this is their second largest one.

Theresa already has both of the turtles offered but recently she really likes koalas. So the obvious thing to do was to buy her the koala Squishable as well. Gift #1, easy.

Gift #2:

This is also easy. On her birthday I'm taking her out to lunch at her favorite Italian restaurant. It's been a while since we've been there so I think she'll like that. I'm hoping I can get the waiter/waitress to give her a slice of cake with a candle in it or something. No singing though, Theresa embarrasses easily though and she'd kill me later.

Gift #3:

A lot of you suggested making things. Good idea, so I've been looking through Lizzy's blog to try and find something that I can bake without dying.

WHO LET DAMIAN INTO THE KITCHEN?!

Ok, I'm not that bad but my baking isn't exactly my strongest suit. Things to note, Theresa doesn't like cupcakes or pastries that are too sweet.

Gift #4:

I'm actually uncertain for this last one. I have a date with her on Sunday so I'm thinking of buying her something then, you know, like an early birthday present. But Theresa is really, really, hard to buy for. As in, she'll see something she'll like, refuse to buy it because "it's a waste/no necessary/I don't need it/[insert stupid reason here]" AND refuse to let me buy it.

I'm still bitter about that dress she wouldn't let me buy her.

Worse comes to worse I'll gift her something from Steam. It's a cop-out gift but I'm kind of running out of options.

Plus, I need to start thinking about Christmas gifts too. Can't use up all my ideas yet.

  3. Good gift ideas man. Being reminded about needing to buy Christmas presents is annoying though, I hate the headaches Christmas can cause!

  8. What is it about unnatural decisions revolviing around 4, man? I can relate.

As for the gifts, don't ask her. When she's all "no", say ok, then sneak around and get it anyway. Win?

  9. If she enjoys gaming, a Steam gift is a good idea. Make sure it's co-op and play it together! :D

  10. Doesn't she read your site?

    ReplyDelete
  11. In my blog you can find some dessert and cocktail to finish the dinner :D

  12. good ideas, i choose gift 4

  13. 4 gifts? Quite the charmer. How old is she? A nice bottle of wine usually makes my lady happy.

  14. I'm glad I don't have to take decisions. :P

  15. Squishibles sound like Beanie Babies.

  16. Gift-buying really is over-complicated. Ugh, that reminds me that I need to start looking around for the holiday season. Good luck to you!
Oh, and thanks for the comment! I'm going to be updating quite regularly and hope to get some more followers. I just started following you.

  17. Lmao! Just do a romantic picnic. Easily the best option. Saves you some $$ as well.

  18. She really is a lucky girl to get four gifts, just like you're a lucky guy to land a girl gamer :P

    ReplyDelete
  19. 4 is a lot, she's very lucky to have you.

    ReplyDelete
  20. 4 gifts? No wonder women won't hang with me :(

    ReplyDelete
  21. Be alpha. Make her buy you a gift for her birthday. Ooooh yeah.

    ReplyDelete
  22. You buy four gifts?!

Dude, can you become my boyfriend or something? :D:D:D:D

    No?

    ....Hmph.

And I can assure you, with all the authority of a fifteen-year-old, that Squishables are wonderful presents. The dinner sounds like a great idea.

As for the third...instead of baking something, why don't you just suprise her with donuts for breakfast? I doubt her dislike for overly sweet things extends to donuts.

And if she wears earrings, just buy her some lovely ones for her last present. Earrings never seem too extravagant because they are small items, so you can spend as much or as little as you like on them.

  23. Your gift shopping experiences sound so traumatic but I think you are doing great on this one. Lucky girlfriend! I assume she does not read your blog????

  24. 4 gifts, man you are quite the romantic!

    ReplyDelete
  25. wow! Good for you!!!

    mine is just starting :(

    that means..bad for me :(

  26. Buy her some designer underwear. It is something that she can wear anytime or bring anywhere that only you could see.

Men usually avoid this kind of thing because buying them is a pain and everyone in the underwear shop will look at you funny or label you as a pervert, but overcoming this obstacle means that you are willing to face shame just to give her this gift.

  31. Giving a gift card is the best last resort for when you have no idea, and no time. Some people, mostly, techy people (Like me, so I know the general community) like getting gift cards, because then you can get the exact model you want, nobody, not a gf not a mum can know which exact model you want without asking you, so you have to give up the surprise to make the person happy, if you try your luck and get the wrong one, it really feels like a waste of money - because I would constantly think about the price, and how I could of gotten a better, or a way better one for the same price, so there, a gift card might be best in some cases.

  32. I like the first and second ideas. Don't you think to put them together? There's gonna be a great giant-koala-with-no-singing gift ;)

    ReplyDelete
  33. I like idea number 2. That's a cute one.

    ReplyDelete
  34. 4 gifts? What a lovely bf, hahah.

A gift from Steam sounds good to me. Who wouldn't want to expand their library?

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think great gifts are, Fire extinguishers and first aid kits. It shows you are truly concerned for the otehrs well being.

  36. ANYTHING cute for gift#4 :) all womens love cute stuffs!!!!

  37. Women are hard to buy for. I got my gf a bracelet and tickets to Bruno Mars. Seems to have pleased her. ;)

  38. IT'S SO SQUISHY I'M GONNA DIIIIIIIE

I'm sorry, I can be of no help with present buying because I really really hate it. I usually try giving people something personal, like writing something for them. Then they're obliged to like it. Obliged.

  39. Search Etsy. Does she like art prints? Does she need a new scarf? They have tons of practical, cute stuff on there!

  43. im terrible at buying gifts too :/ maybe make her something simple and cute like paper cut out stick figures of you and her on a card or something.

Anyways, I have a link to the full song (download) in my post for that trance song! I guess I should make it a bit more obvious.

  44. I hope she doesn't read this blog and get everything spoiled.

  45. A very wealthy man and a middle class man are discussing the gifts they got for their partners. The wealthy man says that he got his wife a diamond ring and a new Mercedes car. He explains that if she doesn't like the ring, she can still go and drive around in her new car.

The middle class man says that he got his partner a new dress and a dildo. That way if she doesn't like the dress, she can go f*ck herself.....

Sorry. Very crude joke, but your blog reminded me of it and I have a horrible need to share everything.

I love the idea of baking something for her, and would recommend some kind of apple cake. They tend to not end up too sweet while are still delicious.

  46. Looks like you're doing well with the ideas! I'm starting to get the brain going for Christmas presents for my girlfriend. Always hard at first, then it just takes one good idea and the rest pour in.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Most of these seem like good ideas. Four of anything will get you far.

Only question is the last potential item. What is a steam gift?

    ReplyDelete
  48. hate stuffed dolls like that. people love buying such things for my daughters and all they do is take up space. half a storage room is filled with them downstairs

    ReplyDelete
  49. Koalas are so cute. Why do they have to be so far away from me?

    ReplyDelete
  50. LOL Well, good luck with the gifts. Here's a suggestion for someone who's hard to buy for: How about an experience? Has she ever been to the top of the [insert suggestion], or the outside theater, or some such? I'm not one for collecting lots of stuff (except for books), but a good experience is hard to beat. :D

  51. I you ask to me... option #2 is the best

  52. That explosion looks suspiciously like the result of my last experience with my sister's EZ-Bake Oven.
