Happy Chinese New Years!

Happy Chinese New Years! Hope everyone who celebrates this day had a good one. So we move from the year of the dragon onto the year of the snake. I'm kind of ambivalent about the whole thing because I'm a horse so my zodiac year will be next year.

I spent it in front of a computer (as usual) and then meeting up with family for food. I know that pizza and sushi aren't traditional Chinese foods but I'm not complaining. I think I've eaten enough rice for this lifetime.

I'll pass.

I'm going to keep this post short. I usually do for holidays and what not. Plus, I really don't have much else to say other than yay for red pockets. When you're as in-debt as I am, every bit of money is appreciated for whatever occasion.

In less happy news, I think I may have found out why I'm so sickly. You know, the collapsing lungs, the sleep apnea, etc. etc.. A doctor's appointment later this week followed by some tests may confirm this.

I'll see you guys Wednesday.

Obligatory snake picture.

  3. Rice makes you fat!
All the more reason to skip.I only recently discovered this fact and it always works when I'm not exactly in a rice-eating mood.Which can suck when that's all you have for lunch!
Anyway,I hope the tests go well and that there's nothing to worry about.
    Till then, AdiĆ³s!:)

  5. I hope it's nothing too bad and is treatable. Sounds like it's going to be bad though if it can cause all of that. Seems odd to say happy Chinese new year after saying that but those red pockets are going to be of a lot of help to you. I come under the year of the horse too so I shall join you in your ambivalence this year and next year I shall join you in exuberance.

  8. I hope you've found out the cause of your illness! There's nothing worse than having things wrong with you and not knowing why (I know this from experience, I still haven't found out). I found out yesterday that I was born in year of the horse, too.

  9. Pizza and sushi sounds like a good time to me. More so than eating your own ass, anyway.

  10. Best of luck with this doctor's appointment mate, hopefully it goes well for you. Your Chinese New Years dinner sounds epic although I love rice, even when plain, I reckon I'd make a good Chinese person haha.

  16. I hope you get an answer on the illness soon, and recover quickly. What are red pockets?

My year was last year (dragon) and it was pretty interesting.

  18. Yep, yay for the red packets, the highlight of the whole thing lol.. It's a lot more profitable though if one is still unmarried haha... Well, while we did have a lot of rice and boiled stuff, we did have some McDonald's too -- a quarter pounder is awesome when you haven't had one for ages :)

  20. Happy Chinese New Year!! I don't think it matters what we eat at holidays as long as we're with friends or family. The 'Year of the Snake' does nothing for me either. Take care of yourself.
