Special thanks to Cade and tsvaishnav if for whatever reason you're still reading this blog.
First things first, if you scroll through my older posts you've see quite a bit of censorship. Words have been changed, images have been modified, etc. etc. all in hopes that someone doesn't get offended and report me. In other words, this blog will be a lot less colourful in the future.
Swear words will be replaced with rainbows or ponies. In this case, both.
I honestly think that finding a person's orientation to be offensive is really pushing the line at best and homophobic at worst. That post had a tag removed which hopefully would appease the kind of individual that could be offended by it. I have no intention of removing or changing the tone of the post, I have my limits.
The next thing that surprised me was the need for a privacy policy. You need this if you are displaying "a form of communication used to persuade an audience to take some action with respect to products, ideas, or services."
Such as this delicious food product.
Going here will provide you with all the information you need to get yours going. You can always take a look at mine if needed but I pretty much just did what the link asked me to do.
Last but not least, in the case that someone does try and sabotage your blog it be a good idea to get StatCounter so you have physical evidence of them being there and messing things up. Mine is on the left sidebar and I've opted to not display pagehits and what not.
And there we go, hopefully I'm safe. I honestly think I'm going a bit over the top here with all this censorship and I honestly believe if someone did have a problem and it was reported I would simply get a notification to remove said material instead of a ban. Let me know what you guys think about this.
And if you see something that offends you on this blog also just let me know instead of reporting it. We're all friends here right?
And ever and ever and ever! (I miss my swear words...)
Hmm, if somebody would be offended about something on my blog and wanted me to remove it, I would just tell him to go f*** (I don't usually censor it, but whatever) himself. Is that really ban worthy? Where's free speech in that?
ReplyDeleteI'll have to at least place that privacy policy thing somewhere in my blog I guess.
Well, I've never seen something offensive here.
ReplyDeletevery useful tips! that adsense forum is quite useful and i've implemented the statcounter.
ReplyDeletethanks!
:Brohoof:
ReplyDeletemad respect for posting ponies.
Rainbow Dash makes your blog at least 20% cooler
thanks for the advice might add or censor some things on my previous posts
ReplyDeleteThis information is very helpful. The privacy policy is something I probably never would have considered. If I'm not already influencing people's views about, well... salt, for example, I certainly will be.
ReplyDeleteNice little clean up, hope you can maintain yourself with it!
ReplyDeletePonies offend me! Just kidding. I am kind of wondering what brought this on, I've read all your posts, and I don't remember anything that could have caused this. But I suppose it could be something that kicked off in the comments. Do whatever it takes to stay alive my good man. And remember, ponies = traffic.
ReplyDeletedid you get complaints?
ReplyDeleteI've never notices anything bad on your blog before?
ReplyDeleteGraces her subjects, and her thoughts the king. Supporting!
ReplyDeleteArn't blogs meant to show whatever YOU intend to put on it?
ReplyDeleteAlso, ponies!
Dont be a wuss. Keep writing with your style but think twice before saying REALLY offensive stuff. You should be ok.
ReplyDeleteI support you, but I hope you don't overcensor yourself. Your blog is for you first.
ReplyDeleteI was never offended
ReplyDeleteTo be honest, i was very amused and i don't know what scared you. You should keep your style.
What? That's ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteI just edited my blog too, theme changed, a facebook fanpage created, edit the links ...
ReplyDeleteBtw, please give me a like on facebook bro :D
Someone reported you? For what?
ReplyDeletehey Dwei, I just created a facebook fanpage and I need your support. Btw, I think you should create one too, it helps a lot for blogging.
ReplyDeletereplace with what? -RAINBOWS?
ReplyDeletecool. O_o
wtf people just shouldnt visit your blog if they find something offensive. i enjoy reading your blog a lot :)
ReplyDeleteWait. SOMEONE REPORTED YOUR BLOG?
ReplyDeleteWhat the....rainbows?
Seriously?
Okay, now I'm scared. If they have problems with your blog, which is fun, entertaining, and relatively mild, they're going to send me to prison.
I hate orange jumpsuits, FYI.
Seems like this is quite the overreaction. Your blog is great and I've never read anything that could even be considered to be offensive. So long as you keep up with the good, interesting posts I don't mind though.
ReplyDeleteLooks like you are really afraid of getting your earnings obliterated. :P
ReplyDeleteA year ago I had some picked on my blog, constantly messed with ads and that kind of things, but didn't noticed that It has affected me in any way...so I think that you do not have to worry so much about censorship and that..
P.S. There is something similar on apple market to "CJ: Strike back". It's called City Jumper, but I don't think it comes from the same developer.
That's a lot of work, people should just get on with it, if they don't like it then they should bugger off.
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen anything offensive here except those ugly little ponies. What's up with that!? ;) If I'm really offended, I'll usually let that person know, but so far, you're good.
ReplyDeleteI like it now and I liked it before^^ Great advice also n_n
ReplyDeleteSome people are just complete nagging on nothing! I always liked reading your stuff!
ReplyDeletewhat did they exactly report you for? I'm shocked. Never heard of that happening before. And I haven't noticed anything offensive so far at your blog.
ReplyDeleteSome people can take more than others. It's hard to please the crowd, but hey, you can try.
ReplyDeleteBring back more swear words.
ReplyDeletePonies always make things better :).
ReplyDeleteThanks for the stat counter tip
ReplyDeleteDid someone reported you or something?
ReplyDeleteRAINBOW that idiot, RAINBOW him right in the RAINBOW.
I added a privacy policy section to my blog as well, but that's because I expect to sell commissions and I want the customers to feel safer.
This post thoroughly amused me~
ReplyDeletefriendshipp is magic. I'm getting banned soon i think.
ReplyDeleteI will NEVER get the pony thing.
ReplyDeleteLESS colorful!?!?! D'=
ReplyDeleteWhy did you get reported?
ReplyDeleteThis makes me want to take my blog more seriously but that would actually require effort. Oh well.
ReplyDeleteI never noted anything offensive in the past.
ReplyDeleteIf this post is evidence of a "cleaned up version" then I think you won't have any problems keeping us entertained!

ReplyDeleteMy only complaint in life is people who try to censor others!
ReplyDeletewell thanks for letting us know! some people are just way too trigger happy with bans...
ReplyDeletecensor with "newt gingrich"
ReplyDeleteYa, I use statcounter myself, pretty helpful when you need to know who's been spamming your blog and stuff. Also nice that it's "invisible".
ReplyDeleteEw censoring.
ReplyDeleteThere is a code to remove the navigation bar at the top of your blog, thus preventing other people from clicking "Report Abuse" and making it harder for them to report you.
ReplyDeleteWatch this video tutorial if you are interested:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hCPaClUZRwI
Remember, they could still report you even without the navigation bar but they'll have to go through a lot of effort to do it compared to just clicking "Report Abuse".
This is great!
ReplyDeleteI never heard of someone getting banned over coarse language.
ReplyDeleteWait, where was the offensive material in the first place??
ReplyDeleteRest in peace, sweet swear words.
I really don't care would anyone be offended.. It's my blog and it's my words.. I don't care for others..
ReplyDeleteI may apply some similar changes in my blog too, just in case
ReplyDeleteI remember reading your post and I didn't find it offensive at all.
ReplyDeleteBut I get were your coming from :/
Sometimes its better safe than sorry
boo censorship booo
ReplyDeleteYou should really be able to express your opinion... well, at least as long as it is legal O_o And thanks for the tips!
ReplyDeleteIf they don't like or if they feel offended why do they come to your blog?
ReplyDeleteRainbow Dash!!! Nice blog + followed
ReplyDeleteThought we are living in a free world??
ReplyDeletecool changes in your blog dude!
