Unless you're Korean. They can't get their men thin enough.
In the meantime, money for me will probably come from one of these sources:
- This blog
Google isn't afraid to use this. This section has been modified appropriately I believe.
EDIT: Mr. Islander (as well as many others) suggest completely removing this section just to be safe. It has been done.
EDIT: There have been suggestions of a donation button on this blog but that feels wrong, the fact that you guys are even reading this blog is enough and I don't think I should be asking for more.
- Scholarships:
Which is why I'm going to try and apply for scholarships that no one has ever heard about or even bother applying for. In fact, I'm going to try and do what a friend of a friend of mine did a few years back and apply for Aboriginal scholarships.
I could totally pass for a Native American.
What my friend's friend did was submit a fake application to one of these foundations as a joke. This guy is completely Caucasian and a month later he received a cheque for $5000. Why? Because the foundation hadn't had an applicant in over 5 years and they wanted to get rid of the money before they got taxed for it.
If I have any success with this, I'll let you guys know. Feel free to try it out yourself, what's the worst that can happen?
- Investing
It appears to me that a lot of people don't do their research on stocks, instead, they rely on tips from friends or enthusiastic news reports and then dump a chunk of their money into a stock without a second thought. To makes things worse, they don't bother checking up on said stocks, reducing opportunities to make a profit or reduce losses.
Either that or they don't ever sell their stocks, becoming attached to them. The purposing of stocks is to sell them at a higher price than you bought them for. Other times people are too greedy and hold onto their stocks even after they could make a considerable profit.
So in theory, if I avoid these pitfalls I should do ok. I'm not here to become a day trader, if I make a few extra bucks a month that be great.
But if this happens I won't complain.
So that's my plan for now besides working part-time at a fast food restaurant. These ideas appeal to me because of the lack of time I have due to classes. You guys are more than welcome to offer your opinions as you probably have more experience than me. Most comments are quite helpful and very much appreciated. Except the spammers, I hate you guys.
Speaking of classes, I start tomorrow so off to be for me.
you could sell dope. Easy money especially in college.
ReplyDeleteWRT investing, be careful out there it is a very dangerous market. Find a stock you might want to invest in and then watch it for awhile. See how it moves, how does it react to certain things. How does it move in relation to the overall market. Keep your eye on it for awhile before you buy it. You will eventually be able to spot certain patterns in its movement. Then you will be able to make some money with it. I like trading AAPL, it has single handedly save my trading account this year. It is also a great stock to be in long term. Good luck with your investing.
I think that you worry too much.. You will be working, there will be some income here on the blog definitely.. I don't remember do you have a girlfriend, but if you don't, finding rich one would be really good..
ReplyDelete:) Ok, I am not really helpful, but I think you will do just fine and that you're too young to worry so much.
OH PLEASE.
ReplyDeleteI'll pay you fifty bucks to sleep with me.
(...Yes, I'm doing this out of charity. Karma will smile upon me.)
hahahahaha! handsdown to Lemons Don't Make Lemonade :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely agree that you worry too much buddy. But I'm the exact same. I worry about money all the time, I worry about everything so I can definitely empathize. Things will get better man.
ReplyDeleteApparently being a naked butler and stripper can earn you a few quid... Benedict Garratt did had the right idea. The teaching profession and General Teaching Council were a little irate about it, but what the fuck do they know!?
ReplyDeletenice blog and great post. must be followed!
ReplyDeleteYou know what's the bgger problem with adsense?
ReplyDeleteYour friends.
The minute you tell them "I'm broke, and I started placing ads on my site" they go "Oh, I want to help!" and start clicking like madmen. I knew a british guy that got banned that way.
Hoping it all works out for you!!!!
ReplyDeleteI've also heard that trading in money, I've also used forex etc., very hard to get the hang of it but if you're wanna learn it you can. And make some serious money out of it:)!
ReplyDeleteAdsense is finicky for me as well, we'll just have to see if it pays us or not. I blog regardless. Investing may be a good idea too. I've just invested in a bracelet for my gf. fml.
ReplyDeleteMale prostitution is a great idea. I knew a guy who traded sex for a motorbike and £50. He is still my God. All I can say is be careful really. Both when applying for a scholarship you actually don't qualify for, and if you decide to be a day trader. Personally when I'm low on cash I just wallow in despair and wonder why I don't have any money, but that wouldn't be very good for a student. I'm also seriously paranoid about being banhammered by google even though I've done absolutely nothing wrong, but I don't make much so I don't think I'm too likely to lol.
ReplyDeletea huge applause to Lemons above :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the classes, DWei!
Stupid STUPID sugesttion here. I would remove the part about adsense from your post soon because the google bots might see that as asking for clicks. I only say that because I've seen a lot of legit bloggers like youself get banned for even mentioning adsense. It's like a algorithmic taboo. Just trying to help out. Don't mind the crazy islander.
ReplyDeleteAdSense, or internet business in general for that matter, should NEVER be considered a source of money that can be compared to a job, unless you're making such good money, and the situation is REALLY, VERY stable (which it rarely is, because hey, the internet is a fickle thing). Your best chances are to come up with an ingenius idea for a site, make it happen, amass a fanbase, and go from there. That by itself is really quite hard, though.
ReplyDeleteuse firefox with adblock, you will never click your own ads :D
ReplyDeleteI kind of agree with the LoneIslander, it might be a decent idea to take that part down.
ReplyDeleteI would totally buy a borderline anorexic Asian male. I'll have to ask my boyfriend to give me you for my birthday though, cause I couldn't afford you myself. :/
ReplyDeleteMaybe you could sign up for Paypal and put a donation box here. Since you seem to have a decent amount of followers here, some of them might be willing to donate a buck or two.
ReplyDeleteYoung one if you're serious about becoming a male prostitute and fear you wouldn't have any clients- just remember that there's a lid for every pot. I'm sure you'd be in demand.
ReplyDeleteSeriously I wouldn't recommend it though. Although I flirted with the idea when I was in college. I was even approached by a madam back then. By that was a lifetime and another body ago.
Like you I was hoping to make big $$ from my blog. And although my stats are steadily getting better, I'd be like 112 before that'd happen. So we're opening an online store soon. Hopefully the blog will feed the store and vice versa.
Just took a look at your blog; you're a talented writer! Maybe you can do something with that to make money? I'm out of school now, but I remember how stressful it was to figure out finances. Good luck!

P.S. Now following! :)
The thing about daytrading is you need alot of money to make a significant profit daily and still be somewhat safe.
ReplyDeleteFang is being way to realistic here. I prefer to live with my head in the clouds. Male prostitution doesn't sound so bad from up there. +follow
ReplyDeleteMoney! How I wish we lived in a resorce based economy!
ReplyDeleteGood luck my friend.
ReplyDeletei would take the advice and remove that certain part.
ReplyDeleteFang does have a good idea but it would take some time and would have to be a good nitch to have a site for.
as a college student myself i wasn't able to find a decent part time job to work around my classes, so I'm really interested to see what you come up with bro
i agree with @lonelslander
ReplyDeleteSo I shouldn't click on your ads a ton over and over...glad you warned me! As I was reading, I was thinking, "Hey, I can click this guy's ads to help him out." But I see the error of my thinking now: I surely don't want to get you banned!
ReplyDeleteAll I can say is good luck. And if there is anything I can do (besides following and commenting, which I already do), just say so.
Hope classes are going well!
I hope classes are going well!
ReplyDeleteIf there's anything we can do to help you with the money-raising on the blog, just say the word!
As I am son and servant to your will. Supporting!
ReplyDeleteYou could always try begging. Maybe play the guitar at a street corner or something. Anything goes.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure there's huge demand for anorexic Asian males, but I don't think that's a smart career choice. :)
ReplyDeleteGood luck on your financial situation. You will pull through.
ReplyDeleteAboriginal path for the win. Wear feathers on your head, a cool necklace made by the navajos and tell them your name is red feet or burning coyote. You should be fine. Oh and apply for that foundation that likes to give away money, spend it on hookers and blow. That should clear your mind.
ReplyDeletebest of luck im in a similar situation!

I feel honored you considered being a gigolo hahaha as Dawg said, you could beg. I've heard of beggars that sit right out of churches and make a LOT of money for being beggars. They make like 30k a year, but you need to have 0 self respect to do that.
ReplyDeletethere are surprisingly many ways to save out there. there's a lot of blogs on it as well :)
ReplyDeleteHope it all works out. It sucks to be stressed about money, I'm moving in a couple weeks and it costs way more than I'd anticipated to move all our stuff. :/
ReplyDeleteI should hopefully be getting my first cheque soon, i'm a student too so I'll let you know if I get it (:
ReplyDeleteI think you're very mistaken about borderline anorexic Asian males. I know quite a few girls who would pay good money for something like that.
ReplyDeleteI share the fear with you and Mark. Call me a paranoia hound. Did you know that Aboriginal people can use warms of insects to clean their sinuses out?
ReplyDeleteTime to sell your body.
ReplyDeleteif you get a scholarship cheque like that, i will be impressed and jealous!
ReplyDeleteInvesting into stocks sound too risky for me..maybe if someone could get you "into" the bushiness..
ReplyDeleteStudent Scholarships and Grants are better than loans, but loans are still better than busting your ass for each dollar...
ReplyDeleteI am still thinking about when I will be able to attend university, and how to afford it...
I feel your pain. I'm trying to get an on campus job, but I applied way too late and now I'm sorta screwed.
ReplyDeleteBruh, I live in a country where prices are the same as everywhere else, and the average monthly income is, like $250. I feel your pain.
ReplyDeleteWhat you should do is become a PR for a video game industry. You're good looking, which is a plus, and Asian, which is a mega plus, because apparently everyone considers Asian people to be both smart and an authority on video games nowadays. Hell, odds are 70% you'd get the job.
Also, make sure to put on some glasses. People think you're smarter if you wear glasses. Nailed a shitload of jobs that way. I was moving furniture, yeah, but still, nailed that bitch.
oh you money!
ReplyDeleteDon't worry, we're all going to die in next year's december. I hope you get your scholarship
ReplyDeleteI hope it works out Dwei but I'm for selling you moneymaker.
ReplyDeleteplan to lose money in stocks, it's a learning experience!
ReplyDeleteAnd a good tip i've heard is only trade up to half the money you're willing to trade. that way you'll always have more money to trade!
well as long as you work part time and dont waste all your money at once you should be fine

Its easy to say don't worry but in the situation you do. If you can do begging...some make more in a year then I do. How about starting a small sandwich making side line to other students or the like?
ReplyDeleteSynthesize meth. :P
ReplyDeleteobvously, self-piteous behavior can also be sold, amazing! my secret-tip: 1.learn how to play guitar. it adds more melodramatic to your sad stories. 2. busting effects thanks to background strumming.
ReplyDelete3. open a youtube account and upload the misery.
4.???
5.profit! ( with emo-fanshirts)
btw, just kidding, best of luck to you, man :) here in europe things are a bit easier, you neednt pay for studying.
