Happy (Canadian) Thanksgiving!

We do things differently in Canada, I never understood why milk came in bags, why we're so polite or why we have Thanksgiving 1 month earlier than our American cousins. But we do, and nearly everyone got a long weekend. Didn't make a difference to me because I normally get Monday off anyways.

Having all your classes crammed on two days is pretty awesome.

Even if I am using my off-days to work at my part-time job.

Anyways, I hope everyone in Canada enjoyed their Thanksgiving dinners. And an early Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers. I'm not sure how things work in Europe, so Happy Thanksgiving to you guys too?

For all 3 days all the relatives that I had in the city came together and we had dinner at someone's house. The only problem I had was that there wasn't any pumpkin pie. I love pumpkin pie, I'm not even sure why I like it so much.

Maybe I'll just run out and buy one for myself to inhale.

Mmmm....

Anyways, it's a holiday so short post. See you guys on Thursday. Eat lots everyone.

  2. I'm kind of confused as to why milk comes in bags, that one's a real head scratcher for me. All the same I want to wish you and the rest of your family a very Happy Canadian Thanksgiving! The one time I went to Canada I absolutely loved it, the people are all so friendly and different to Americans but in a better way.

I've never tried pumpkin pie before but it sounds awesome, I wish we did it over here!

  6. Happy Thanksgiving, ours is earlier because it is based on the time of harvest. Weather wise we finish the crops a month before the US ;-)

  12. Ugh. I dislike pumpkin pie. My mom was a bit of a hippy and always made it with no crust, half the sugar and half the salt. Blech!!!!! I still can't eat it the normal way now, because it reminds me too much of forcing down Mom's version...

  13. Buy a premade pie crust and use the recipe on a can of Libby's pumpkin puree (not the premade pie filling). This is an easy, nearly foolproof pie recipe...then you can have the whole thing to yourself!

  17. We had a good Thanksgiving, even though we are in England and parents in Canada.
Don't like pumpkin pie, or moose come to think of it either. There is nothing to celebrate in England except Christmas and New Year, the rest of the year is pretty boring...unless there is a Royal Wedding, which are few and far between.
I'm actually feeling quite homesick...and yes, we were brought up to be polite. Good manners cost nothing.

    HAPPY BELATED THANKSGIVING!

  28. I've never tried pumpkin pie. I've only ever eaten pumpkin as a savory vegetable, not a sweet.
I must try it some time...
