It's been kind of a disaster, and relates to the problems mentioned here.
So, where to begin?
Bluh.
So Theresa got in a fight over something stupid during the Christmas break. Petty, couple stuff, you know what I mean. Fine, so we're both frustrated, fuming at the other person and ignoring one another. Plenty of time to spend with each other if only we both weren't pouting and not talking.
I'm doing fine, I have my projects to work on. I catch on some much needed sleep and spend time with other friends. I don't feel bad or guilty about the fight because I "know" I was in the right. I feel a bit lonely but oh well.
And then I find out that somehow within the week we didn't speak with one another, Theresa ended up in the emergency room several times.
So now I feel like a jerk.
Yeah, something about knowing the person you recently fought with has gone to the hospital just makes you feel bad. Very, bitter taste in the mouth if you know what I mean. I'll make it up to her somehow.
Here's a corgi driving a car.
But it doesn't end there my friends no. I'm also a bit of an idiot. I drive down to go work my shift at my fast food job. And normal day, nothing out of the ordinary. And then as I close up shop and head back to my car to begin the cold drive home I notice something odd.
Why is the driver's side door unlocked?
And why is the glove compartment open with stuff littered all over the place?
Insert colorful expletives here
I don't know if I completely failed to lock the door, maybe I didn't fully lock the car? Either way, someone got in, stole a bunch of stuff, and got out. They also were not smart people, stealing a dash cam, sunglasses, charging cord for the GPS (but not the GPS itself), a remote control, and volunteer IDs for the Humane society. None of the money in the car was taken and the insurance was untouched.
We've filed a police report, security for the area where I parked unfortunately did not have cameras within range of my car, vandals made off with about $400 worth of things but at least they didn't break a window doing it.
So uh, Happy new week I guess. I hope things can only go uphill from here. I guess I live up to my blog name, I have been a massive derp this week.
Sorry to hear that things have been so bad Damien, you've got to make it up to Theresa though and go and visit her if you haven't already although I'm going to assume you will have. She'll be fine and you guys will be fine which is most important. Those vandals sound like piss take artists too, taking such petty things, why they had to take volunteer identification I will never know. Assholes like that infuriate me so I'm really hoping they do get caught. Things will get better though man, honestly, just keep your head up and keep on doing what you have been doing and you're going to be fine.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's one pretty bad week. Theresa ending up in the hospital though has shown you what's truly important, and I hope you're able to put the fight behind you and move on together, I also hope she gets the surgery as soon as she can.
ReplyDeleteIt can only get better.....
ReplyDeleteBoooo! All that sucks! I've had to have my gallbladder removed - those attacks are the WORST. Hope things turn around soon!
ReplyDeleteHmm, that definitely sucks. But hey, a whole year is ahead of you, and I'm sure it'll be filled with sunshine and rainbows and candy and everything!
ReplyDeleteTough start to the new year but I'm sure things will get better. Hang in there!
ReplyDeleteOh wow! :-( I am so sorry!!
ReplyDeleteI hope Theresa is doing as well as can be given her health problems! Oh dear!
As for the theft...! :-( But I believe in karma so these thieves/thief will get what's coming to them tenfold!!!
You take care and I truly hope you and T are now friends again! x
I hope things get better for you! That really is a bad start to the new year.
ReplyDeleteGah! I'm sorry things suck right now. I promise you, it will get better! It might get worse before it gets better... but um, you know, it WILL get better! That sucks about Theresa - but this could be a good opportunity for both of you to bury the hatchet and move on from stupid couples' fights. Things like this help keep it in perspective, and you can make your conscience feel better just by letting it go. (hopefully you can, sometimes I have a pretty hard time "letting go" of certain disagreements, too!). And sorry about the car, too! People suck :(
ReplyDeleteThat sucks :(, what did you have in your glove department worth $400 if you don't mind me asking?
ReplyDeleteOne of my door locks is broken so I don't keep anything special in my car.
ReplyDeleteGeez, I'm sorry about all of that. I am glad you and your GF are on good terms now. And glad you were not hurt, just stuff taken. See, there's a bright side! :) (I had to think that way when I got a life-threatening infection. I wasn't sure if I would have kidney damage so I said, "I have another one!")
ReplyDeleteWell at least she found out what it was, that is a plus. Sucks indeed, but life is never easy or fair it seem. hope things get better.
ReplyDeleteThat's definitely not a good start to the new year. :( I hope the rest of your 2013 is much better!
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so sorry to hear about Theresa. That's scary. But you have time to clear it all up and be happy. The car thing sucks. On the positive side, the car still works. :)
ReplyDeleteThings will get better. I think sometimes things get lumped together to test us.
That's just really bad luck. It's good the thief's were fellow derpers and didn't take anything important. Keep your head up cause things will just get better and better from here on in.
ReplyDeleteAaw:(
ReplyDeleteWishing you a better next day, next week and so on... I wish Theresa would be better soon... you take care of yourself too.
You must have been feeling bad about Theresa so you could have left the car door open. I hope that you will be able to replace the lost things. Hope every thing is good between the two of you.
ReplyDeleteOh dear sounds like a shit start to the new year. I'm sorry. Don't be too hard on yourself with either situation. We all make mistakes. At least your money wasn't taken and your girlfriend's health issues can be treated. :)
ReplyDelete'tis true, when bad things come they come in the form of a storm.....
ReplyDeleteit sounds like this just isn't going to be your year, hope things turn around this week.
ReplyDeleteYikes, I'm really sorry to hear all of this. The holidays have been stressful, so the missus and I have been pretty frustrated with each other as well, but that'll pass. I hope all goes well with Theresa and her surgeries.
ReplyDeleteAlso, even if you locked your door, if you have an older car, there are ways to pry open the door without busting the lock. Happened to an ex-co worker with a 1992 Honda Civic. So don't beat yourself up. You probably did lock it.
I'm sorry you had to go trough that :( But everything will be better from now on! Wish you all the best :)

I'm sorry to hear you had suck a poor new year :\
ReplyDeletenice post bro, follow !
ReplyDeleteAt least when things go bad you can take precautions to make them better afterwards. You'll make it up to Theresa, you'll be alright with your car, and life goes on. Like you said.
ReplyDeletespider man is an avenger, just not apart of the originals. and wasnt in the movie(s) so thats why those spider man not giving a fuck jokes are on the net. also punching your wife is like keying your car. it is as dumb as it sound.
ReplyDeleteJeez, that sucks! I hope you and Theresa manage to patch things up. I've never had a fight like that before...
ReplyDeleteAhhh.. you better get right on patching things up with Theresa as quickly and as soon as possible. That is my advice, but I am no Dr. Drew Lipinski so I might be wrong.
ReplyDeleteThe week of Christmas may Samsung SII was stolen, my laptop died (forever) and our car had some kinda seizure so I totally understand how you feel.
ReplyDeletePls don't worry about Theresa. It's a pretty straightforward procedure. She'll bounce back right away; and it'll give you a good excuse to pamper her.
Hang on young one--things will improve eventually.
New year, new beginnings! hings will get better for sure.
