Not much to say

Thanks for the kind comments everyone. Much appreciated. I'll be honest, recovery from a breakup is going faster than I expected, or maybe slower, I'm not sure. I'm just trying to force myself out of this slump as soon as I can. I hate having emotions dictate any part of my life or decisions.

But it's not easy, I've never ended a serious relationship of this length before. As I've experienced the hard way, emotions tend to come in waves.

Like so.

I really don't have much to say, not that there is much to say. I'll be back to my normal self ideally by the end of the week. I just need a little more time.

For anyone else having a bad week or going through a rough patch, watch the video below. It's less than half a minute long but it makes me laugh everytime I see it. I'd love to pull this off one day, even though it's terribly immature and rude.

I'll see you guys on Thursday. I'll hopefully be feeling good enough to make a proper blog post.

  1. That video was a little rude and immature but it was also pretty funny. Not as good as the Sax Man but it was still pretty good. I think you're doing just fine. Or so it seems. You never found yourself stuck in a rut so you're not having too much trouble getting out of it. Just apply yourself to what you want to get done.

  2. No worries buddy. Take some time. Take a break if you have to. Personal life > blogging.

  3. There's a rule of thumb that recovery from a breakup takes one month for every year that you were in the relationship. So 4 years = 4 months needed to process the emotions after separating. Don't try to rush it or short-circuit it or the unprocessed emotions will be toxic in your next relationship(s).

  7. This video is intense haha, I get such a laugh out of this despite it being rude like you say. I'm sorry to hear that this has all happened of course but at least you're holding up Damien, just keep your head up man.

  8. Oh young one, I feel for you. I wish I were there to somehow help you, even if it'd only be someone for you to laugh at my misadventures up close and personal.

If there's an upside at all, perhaps it's that's by springtime you should be starting to feel a little better at least. The whole fresh star thing.

Take care of yourself very well right now. Stress wallops your immunity.

  10. As cliche as it sounds, I think the only thing we can do in these situations is let yourself heal with time. :/
    I'm glad you're hanging in there. <3

  15. Whoa, miss a little, miss a lot. Seems a lot has happened since the last time I visited your blog. Sorry to hear about the break up. It sounds like you are handling it well though. I would try to give advice, but I don't deal with such things very well myself, so I would probably just make matters worse. :/

  16. Rude and immature? Right up my alley. That's hilarious.

Glad to hear you're making progress, or at least that you think you're making progress. Things will pick up in time.

  17. If only I knew how to play the trumpet. I would go around doing that at every parade/celebration/party.
